Cancun, Quintana Roo
When it comes to the Caribbean, Cancun has some of the most beautiful landscapes in Mexico. Its beaches have made it one of the most renowned destinations, so make sure you visit its top beaches and take photos of the turquoise-colored water.
- Langosta Beach. You’ll love the family-friendly environment at this beach.
- Tortugas Beach. It is known for its tranquil waters that are perfect for swimming.

This stunning natural wonder was born due to a colossal geological movement. It features cliffs of more than 4,200 feet in depth. Visit Sumidero Canyon National Park and witness a natural work of art.
Travel to Tuxtla Gutierrez or San Cristobal de las Casas, both half an hour away from the park, and hire a boat tour to get here. Don’t forget to take pictures of the Arbol de Navidad and Grande waterfalls, as well as the Hombre, El Silencio, and Colon caves.
Huasteca Potosina, San Luis Potosi
When you hear the name Huasteca Potosina, you will immediately picture rivers, waterfalls, and natural pools. This area boasts charming towns, mountains, and some of Mexico’s most beloved natural wonders.
Fly to San Luis Potosi airport and take a bus or rent a car. Then, head to the Tamul and Salto del Agua waterfalls. Swim in their turquoise waters and practice water sports like kayak.
Cola de Caballo Falls, Nuevo Leon
On the other hand, Nuevo Leon is home to the Cola de Caballo Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Mexico. Its name comes from the shape of water as it falls and hits the rocks, making it look like a white horse’s tail.
The falls are located an hour away from Monterrey by car and 90 minutes by public transportation. The park is wonderful for open-air adventures. It’s worth a visit, as its desert-like landscape is unique to the country’s northern region.
Los Cabos, Baja California Sur
The Arch, in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, is one of Mexico’s main natural wonders. You can also ride a camel or watch the sea lions in this region.
Take a boat ride or paddle board along the shores to capture incredible photos. The area is also famous for its Love Beach and Divorce Beach, which separates the Sea of Cortez from the Pacific Ocean.
Cuatrocienegas, Coahuila
The Cuatrocienagas springs make up a valuable biosphere reserve, as its ecosystem is very similar to those from 500 million years ago. Don’t miss a visit to this natural wonder in Mexico.
Cuatrocienagas is one of Coahuila’s magical towns, and you can drive here from Monclova, Saltillo, Monterrey, and Torreon in around four hours. Enjoy the Blue Spring Pool (Poza Azul), the most famous in the area because of its clear blue hues.
Lacandon Jungle, Chiapas
Chiapas is home to the Lacandon Jungle, with an extension of more than 2.4 million acres. If you’d like to visit this spectacular Mexican wonder, keep in mind that it rains constantly, and you will find plenty of animals on your trek. It’s a worthwhile adventure.
There are several eco-tourism areas. After landing in Tuxtla Gutierrez, you’ll head to the Las Margaritas, Altamirano, Ocosingo, and Palenque municipalities and get to the heart of the jungle.
Arteaga Mountain, Coahuila
Our country is rich in natural diversity, and Arteaga Mountain allows you to ski almost as if you were in Switzerland. It’s one of the most beautiful natural wonders in Mexico, thanks to its cold weather and pine trees that will grant you beautiful photos.
To reach the Mountain, you can drive from Saltillo, the nearest city. You’ll be there in half an hour. Here, you can camp and hike; just remember that it gets quite cold in the winter.
Veracruz Reef System, Veracruz
Write down this name: this is another Mexican wonder you need to check out. The Veracruz Reef System is made up of two large reef bodies, with 12 miles between them. You can swim and admire this natural landscape up close.
Fly to Veracruz and enjoy the Gulf of Mexico. Don’t forget to explore the port city and San Juan de Ulua, an old prison that will offer you great views of the seascape, lined with ships and sailboats.
Eyipantla Falls, Veracruz
To fully admire the majestic Eyipantla Falls – 196 feet tall and 131 feet wide– , we suggest you head up to the lookout by climbing the 250-step staircase. The photos will be worth the effort!
These waterfalls are located in the San Andres Tuxtla municipality. Fly to Veracruz and drive three hours to reach it.
Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, State of Mexico, Morelos, and Puebla
Not only does the Popocatepetl rise more than 18,000 feet above sea level, but both of these volcanoes boast a noteworthy history. Here, you can hike, bike, or climb in certain areas. Enjoy one of Mexico’s most beautiful wonders.
The safest way to reach the volcanoes is by driving to Puebla, the State of Mexico, or Morelos. From here, you can start your way toward the Paso de Cortes mountain pass, where you’ll find shelter. Unfortunately, you can’t climb the Popocatepetl; however, you can climb the Iztaccihuatl and admire its waterfalls.
Copper Canyon, Chihuahua
Home to the Raramuri people, the Copper Canyon is one of Mexico’s most beautiful natural wonders. Walking along one of its bridges will leave you breathless. It’s an ideal spot for taking photos.
To fully appreciate the Sierra Madre Occidental’s beauty, board the Chepe train, which runs from the magical town of Creel to Los Mochis. Enjoy each stop on the train ride and capture memorable moments.
Celestun River, Yucatan
Located in Yucatan, the Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve is a meeting point for salt and freshwater. The resulting ecosystem is quite peculiar and inhabited by pink flamingoes. Have your camera ready for beautiful photos.
Fly to Merida and rent a car to drive to Celestun in around an hour and a half. Keep in mind that the flamingo season runs from December to February.
El Cielo Biosphere Reserve, Tamaulipas
Last but not least, this reserve is one of the most precious ones, as it is home to many endangered species. El Cielo is a miracle where you will encounter a stunning Mexican wonder.
The reserve is located south of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. Drive the Ciudad Mante-Ciudad Victoria highway, 12 miles from the Gomez Farias municipality. There is a wide array of activities for all types of travelers, including hiking, rappelling, biking, and more.
